YEAR 6 THEATRE EXCURSION
On Thursday August 25, Year 6 students visited Hopgood Theatre to see the Patch Theatre Production of ‘Home’. Whilst the production is typically targeted at younger audiences, Home provided an opportunity for students to consider how different elements of art are used collaboratively, to stage a show. Students made connections between the show and the Year 6 PYP Exhibition inquiry into The Arts, and its connection to culture, history and world events. Whilst the visual effects and set design were notable, students’ favourite part of the show was audience participation, with three Coro kids chosen to go on stage and improvise with the actors. Students will use their new understandings as they collaborate with other students, to produce an exhibit before the end of term.
