FROM THE PRINCIPAL ....
Wow! What a fantastic turnout we had for our Book Week Dress Up and Grandparents Day. The weather was perfect, and we were thrilled to have our school community join in and enjoy the Book Week parade and performance in the gym.
Congratulations to everyone on their fabulous costumes, and thank you to all families for supporting our much-loved tradition.
Special mention and thanks to Michelle O’Connell, Stacey Stuttard and Sue Matthews for organising the performance showcasing the many talented students we have here at Coromandel Valley P.S.
Student Led Conferences
On Tuesday 13th September, student led conferences will begin at 3:30pm. The afternoon will conclude at 6:30pm.
At the student led open day, the teacher is present but acts only as a facilitator, if required. It is highly likely that there will be more than one family in your child’s classroom at any one time. Please remember this is an opportunity to share with your child. If you have specific questions for the class teacher these will need to be addressed separately at another time.
You will also visit other specialist program locations (PE in the Gym, Science, Japanese, Performing Arts and Library) in the school where student learning takes place. Your child will take you to these locations as part of their sharing.
Parents will receive information from their child’s class teacher outlining the process for the afternoon. This will include the opportunity to nominate a time that you are available to attend.
School Services Officer (SSO) Week
A special mention from last week to all of our school service officers (SSOs) who each day, positively contribute to school life at Coro. Our SSOs undertake a wide range of roles in our school, in the areas of administration and learning support.
Our admin team of SSOs help manage, coordinate, plan and run a wide range of school operations, including: front-of-house duties, first aid, finance, facilities, grounds, special events and much more – the list is endless.
Our learning support team of SSOs keep our library functioning well, provide additional learning support for students working in small groups as well as providing one to one support for others.
We are grateful to have such a dedicated team of SSOs at Coro and thank them for their dedication and hard work
