RECEPTIONS AND YEAR 1s
Even though the start of this year hasn't looked quite the same as it has in previous years, there have been great opportunities for learning already. Here are some reflections from the Reception and Year 1 teachers and students:
We're going on a Bear Hunt...
On our first day of school, we went on a bear hunt to explore our new environment. We found some small bears hiding in some important places. We investigated the signs on fences and gates that teach us boundaries and important rules. We now feel very confident in finding our way around.
Investigation time...
Our new receptions have had such a great start to the year. We have a strong focus on how we express ourselves in the first term and have been focussed on social skills. Throughout investigation time we have explored lots of construction, craft and creating. We have enjoyed meeting peers and are very excited to eventually play in all the reception classrooms.
1C has been learning about what good teamwork is and how we need to do our best, no matter who we work with. The students worked in small groups to create a puzzle piece for our TEAM jigsaw which reaffirms that Together Everyone Achieves More!
