MRS TODD - FIELD RESEARCH ASSISTANT???
On Sunday 28 November Mrs Todd will be catching a REX flight to Ceduna!
During Week 8 of this term I will be working with field scientists at Fowlers Bay on the Nullarbor Plain to make lots of new and interesting discoveries.
This expedition is part of the Bush Blitz TeachLive program for Earthwatch Australia and part of the journey is to arrange live conferences with classes during the stay. We will be collecting from The Yalata Lands, Wahgunyah Conservation Park and Fowlers Bay Conservation Park.
I will be uploading a daily blog with images, stories and discoveries and I would love for you to keep up to date with my discoveries. https://www.earthwatch.org.au/Blogs/teacher-blog–
Since finding out I had been accepted into the program, I have been to visit Anaconda a few times… The weather is going to be warm so I am stocking up on long sleeved sun smart shirts and I have purchased an extra wide brim hat! I have also bought a new pair of mid hiking-boots for my daily adventures. I could be carrying up to 15kg and travelling around 10km to reach our daily collection sites.
I’m not sure what we will be collecting and discovering yet, but that is part of the mystery and excitement! I’ve been a research assistant in a laboratory, but being a field assistant is another story!
Please follow my adventures on the Earthwatch blog (28 November – 3 December) look out for my seesaw updates and live chats from the field.
