SCIENCE COOKING IN THE KITCHEN
This term during science the Year 3s have been learning about different states of matter and have explored sources of heat.
They were then given the challenge of using their knowledge of solids and liquids and how states can change with heating and cooling – in the kitchen!
Students were put into teams and successfully chose a recipe that had heating and/or cooling, they also changed the state of one or more of their ingredients during the cooking stage.
We had brownies, fudge, sorbet, vegan scones, smores, marshmallow bars, ice blocks, cupcakes, fondu’s, pancakes, scrolls, sausage rolls and chocolate mousse.
I think culinary and collaborative skills grew during this exciting lesson.
Thank you to the social work placement students (Eliza and May), Mrs O’Connell and Jenny T for their hands on support. The students were very lucky!
