YR2 WATER WALK
On the 22nd of June our year 2's took part in a water walk from Coromandel Primary School to Apex Park, as part of our unit of inquiry on water. One of the purposes of our walk was for the students to gain empathy with the daily struggle of people in other countries that don’t have access to fresh drinking water. These people; often children, walk great distances every day to collect water for use in their day-to-day activities, including both drinking and washing. A fun time was had by all, though most were tired by the time they returned to school from carrying the 2 litres of water we collected at Apex Park.
