IBMYP STUDENT INITIATED PROJECT SHOWCASE
Last Thursday our Yr 6 and 7 students very proudly displayed their recently completed Student Initiated Projects. Those who attended were treated to a wide variety of projects which stem from an area selected, to explore, which is connnected to a Global Context. The SIP process involves students selecting an area of interest and developing a problem to solve using the stages of the IBMYP design cycle. The learning that occurs throughout the project is just as important as the end product and requires students to develop a design brief and design specification, including success criteria and an examination of existing connected solutions. As usual students actively engaged parents and families in discussion about their learning journey, including successes and challenges along the way. Congratulations to all our senior students who demonstrated excellent innovation and persistence to complete their projects.
Many thanks to families and friends for actively supporting this process and celebrating achievements at our showcase.
