Dear Parents/Caregivers

SMOOTH TRANSITIONS

Yesterday we finished our transition visits for new reception students starting at our school in 2019.

We have had three very successful visits to new classes full of excitement and anticipation. This year we welcomed new parents with a morning tea in the library and a range of guest speakers. Our SRC students spoke to new parents about the benefits of our school and their involvement in Student Action Groups. An information session run by Erin Clarke, our DECD Behaviour coach, provided valuable ideas to help children’s long-term learning capabilities. Andrew Wright spoke to parents about the role of Governing Council, Janita Bentley provided information about parents and friends and Jenni Forder talked about the pastoral care programme.

Our Yr. 7 students are also currently visiting their High Schools for next year, whilst busily preparing themselves for next week's graduation.

 

CLASS STRUCTURES 2019

We are currently in the process of finalising class placements and teacher appointments for 2019. Next Wednesday, before recess, students will visit their new classrooms for 2019. A notification slip regarding 2019 class placement will be included in the report envelope which will go home to all families on Wednesday afternoon. At this stage the Department for Education are still finalising positions, so not all of our 2019 teachers are known.

CELEBRATION NIGHT

We look forward to joining with families next Tuesday for our Celebration Night where we will sing Christmas and Celebration songs, present books to our Graduating Yr7’s, farewell staff members who are leaving us and celebrate the year that has been.

A Celebration Night programme will be sent to all families in a separate email and provided for families on the night.

FAREWELL BEV MULKERIN

This Friday we will have a special assembly at 2:45pm to pay tribute to Bev Mulkerin who has been an important part of our school for many years. We hope that you can join us to hear all about her successes and achievements. Parents are welcome to join us in the library at the conclusion of this assembly for an afternoon tea.

SPORT NEWS

At this time we do not have coordinators for either Basketball or Soccer. These sports will not be available for students to participate in without a coordinator. Please contact the front office if you are considering one of these positions.
