BECOMING WOMEN PROGRAM
During Tuesday lunchtimes in Term 3, twelve Year 7 students participated in a workshop called Becoming Women. This was an 8-week values-based program designed to tackle relevant topics facing girls between the ages of 11-14. Each lesson was run as a video resource and included a student journal, activities and discussions.
The topics explored in Becoming Women included; stereotypes, body image, mental health, healthy relationships (friendships) and identifying and using your spark to create a positive impact in your community.
It was a great time of discussion and the feedback from the students was very positive. The final week ended with a High Tea to celebrate and reflect on the program.
