BEACON HAMPERS
On the 16th November, the Global Initiavties Action Group organised to collect food for Beacon, who are then going to create hampers for local families in need to receive them for Christmas.
We set up a competition for students to bring in as many food items as they could including Christmas, tinned and dry packaged foods. The Global Initiavties Action Group went around to all the classrooms and collected all the food items donated. The Global Initiavties Action Group then sorted the food into two groups, Christmas and other foods.
We are very grateful for the generosity shown by all the school community. In total 800 items of food were donated. The class that donated the most Christmas items was Mr Johnson's class and Ms Carpenter's class collected the most other food. A representative of Beacon came to collect the donated food and was immensely grateful for this generous support.
