LIBRARY NEWS
What an exciting term we have planned in the library!
Diving into the magical adventures of stories, we will be celebrating the Children’s Book Council Association’s (CBCA) Book Week 2025 this term from August 16–23!
Some of the activities to enjoy will include:
- a special visit by Danny Snell, a well-known illustrator of children’s book
- some fun book/ writing opportunities, organised by the Literacy Leaders
- competitions to enter
- our well-loved Book Week Parade on Friday 22nd August.
As the excitement builds, we look forward to celebrating the wonders of books, and the enchantment they bring to us all.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the parade, to celebrate with all the students.

-
- Listening to your child read aloud supports their reading development.
- It creates a shared experience that builds emotional connection and reading confidence.
- Repeated practice makes the brain more efficient, leading to greater reading confidence and ease.
- Following along while your child reads helps catch mistakes and reinforces the importance of reading.
- Celebrate their progress and gently guide them through errors.
