FROM THE PRINCIPAL .....

As we come towards the end of Term 3 we reflect back on all the happenings over the last few weeks including Green and Gold Day, Science Week, Book Week, Rec Father’s Day Breakfast, ICAS competitions, the many incursions and excursions and Orienteering Carnival, with Interschool Chess, Festival Choir and a school disco still to come. Schools certainly are busy places!

Book Week Celebration

Friday of Week 5, Coromandel Valley came alive with students and staff enthusiastically participating in our annual Book Week Dress Up Day parade. The weather was perfect, and we were thrilled to have our school community join in and enjoy the Book Week parade and performance in the gym.

Congratulations to everyone on their fabulous costumes and a big thank you to families who supported their child/ren with some very creative costumes.

Special mention and thanks to Michelle O’Connell, Stacey Stutterd and Sue Matthews for organising the performance showcasing the many talented students we have here at Coromandel Valley P.S.

SSO Appreciation Week

Week 5, we took a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable presence of our School Service Officers (SSOs) and the positive impact they have on the lives of students, teachers and families.

We extended our gratitude for the work our SSOs undertake across all aspects of school life, ranging from administrative tasks and financial matters to maintaining our library and ICT networks, nurturing student well-being, tending to the school garden and grounds, and providing essential learning support.

Thank you to Sue, Karen, Jenny, Nicole, Karmi, Catherine, Vicky, Christian, Kathryn, Suzie, David, Josh, Yvonne, Chloe, Jen, Samantha, Marieke and Keith – We hope you enjoyed the week.

Year 6 PYP Exhibition

The IB PYP Exhibition is a culminating learning experience, designed for the final year of the IB Primary Years Program. From Weeks 1 – 7 of Term 3, all Year 6 students have participated in the Exhibition process, led by Kate O'Driscoll and the Year 6 teachers. The Exhibition process involves students using a range of skills to inquire into a chosen topic and present their learning to the broader school community.

Students shared their completed work Tuesday evening with family and friends. Congratulations to all students and staff on their hard work throughout this process.

Festival of Music Choir

On Wednesday, week 5 the students involved with the Festival of Music went to a whole group rehearsal at Magic Millions. This was a rehearsal for the group singing on our night. They are very much looking forward to performing at the Festival Theatre on Thursday 19th September.

Father’s Day Stall
Our Father’s Day Stall was a great success, offering a wonderful selection of gifts for $5.00. This was a great opportunity for students to choose something special for their dads or another significant person in their life. Thank you to Jodie and all the other volunteers who supported on the day or who previously wrapped gifts.

Reception Father’s Day Breakfast and Activities

The Reception classes hosted a special pancake breakfast the Friday before Father’s Day. Lots of Dads, Grandads and special people enjoyed receiving gifts and spending time doing activities in class while also enjoying a pancake breakfast.

Students and adults all had a great time.
