YEAR 1 MAGAREY ORCHARD EXCURSION
On Thursday 15th August, all year 1 students visited Magarey Orchard, as part of their Farm to Table unit of inquiry. Children were taken on a guided tour of the orchard and were able to see the apple process first-hand. They also enjoyed a delicious apple or pear from the orchard.
At Magarey Orchard I saw water tanks, Alfie the dog, trees and apples. I enjoyed the Nashi Pear, because they were juicy. I’m still wondering how many people work there
Alfie
I saw lots of trees, cherry pickers, netting and trays. I enjoyed walking around, because I saw lots of trees. I’m still wondering how pears are made.
Amos
I saw netting that looked like sushi rolls, apples, lots of trees and tractors. I enjoyed all the trees, because they were so big and old. I’m still wondering how many trees there are in total.
Emmet
I saw fruit trees and a water tank and a tractor and a cherry picker. I enjoyed eating the fruit, because it was yummy. I’m still wondering how much they pick the trees.
