On Friday 10th May, eight Coro students competed in the School Sport SA Team’s Mountain Bike Championships. A perfect day with lots of sunshine and dust and some very tired boys by the end.

In a wonderful display of skill, teamwork, and determination CVPS clinched first place in the 2024 Championships. Coro entered 3 teams, a total of 8 riders, two Year 6 teams and one Year 5 team.

Held at Craigburn Farm Recreation Park, the event brought together schools from all across South Australia with 78 teams competing in the 2 hour race. The course was a mix of uphill and down hill, taking an average of ten to eleven minutes to complete each lap. Teams were tasked with completing as many laps as possible within the 2 hour time limit.

Well done to our Yr 6 boys team of Beau, Darcy and Miles who finished 1st from 78 teams. The boys completed 11 laps in the 2 hour time limit with a total team riding time of 01:58:32 and an average lap time of 10:46.

Our second Yr 6 team including Joseph and Jake finished 8^th from 78 teams. An outstanding result considering they only had 2 riders, meaning less break time between each lap. They completed 10 laps in the 2 hour time limit with a total team riding time of 01:56:17 and an average lap time of 11:37.

Our Yr 5 boys team of Ethan, Noah and Mack finished 40th from 77 teams. The boys completed 9 laps in the 2 hours with a total team riding time of 01:59:30 and an average lap time of 13:16.
