SCHOOL SPORT SA NETBALL CARNIVAL

SCHOOL SPORT SA BOYS NETBALL

Last week, our boys knockout netball team competed in the School Sport SA netball carnival. We started the day with 3 minor round games, all of which we won easily:

Coromandel Valley defeated Craigburn 12-3

Coromandel Valley defeated Clapham 20-3

Coromandel Valley defeated Highgate 13-5

After that, we played in our first final game, which we also won convincingly:

Coromandel Valley defeated St Anthony’s 18-0

Having won that game, we progressed to the next final, which was closer, but still a rather one-sided affair:

Coromandel Valley defeated Edwardstown 11-6

Finally, we made it to the grand final, which we played against Stella Maris. Both teams were very evenly matched, and it was a close game throughout, but unfortunately, we narrowly lost:

Stella Maris defeated Coromandel Valley 8-6

This means that our boys were runners-up in the carnival. But more importantly, the carnival was just the beginning of the State-wide Schools (Knockout) competition and 14 schools have now been eliminated. Only the top two teams for the day get to progress to the next round. So, our journey continues, and we look forward to a re-match with Stella Maris in the near future.

A big ‘Thank you’ to the parents who came out to support us and helped with transport, scoring, and cheering the boys on.

SCHOOL SPORT SA GIRLS NETABLL

Last week, our year 5/6 girls knockout netball team competed in the School Sport SA Netball Carnival at Netball SA.  It was a brilliant day of support and success.

Our girls team played three minor round games and were pleased to win all of them.

The girls then set off to play against Edwardstown in our first final and lost to them in a close match.

In our last game for the day, we fought hard and ended up drawing with Flagstaff Hill Primary School. Due to the draw, we are awaiting our final placing for the day, but the girls should be very proud of themselves for the effort and teamwork shown on the day.

Thank you very much to the parents who came out to show their support, transport and score. Days like this cannot happen without help and was greatly appreciated.
